Joe Kubik was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, the youngest in a family which included three brothers and one sister. His parents, both talented, made sure the family was equipped with paper, pencils and paints to encourage their talents.
An avid art student in grammar, junior high and high school, Joe majored in art and psychology in college. His introduction to design was when his parents retreated to their cabin on long weekends, fearful of what they might find upon their return. They were always gracious, however, to let him experiment with their home and their patience.
His first paying design position was with the well known and established Boise design firm, Lindbloom’s, where his abilities in designing window treatments, bedding and placing accessories were fine-tuned.
Eighteen years of space planning and construction design at Ennis Fine Furniture established Joe as a well-seasoned designer. Enjoying the construction aspect of design, Joe spent the next fifteen years as a design contractor with Stronghold Remodeling, Inc. While there, Joe designed and supervised construction of additions, kitchen and bathroom remodels and landscaping. He also designed and supervised the construction of signature pieces of furniture with unique finishes and surfaces.
This led Joe to Carol’s Design House, which has always been a favorite shopping place for him and his clients.
For thirty-five years Joe has performed design work in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, California and Hawaii.
