Shirley is friendly, creative and enthusiastic. She has developed, in over thirty years in interior design, a real heart and understanding for her client’s needs. Her background includes:
- Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Interior Design
- Involvement in civic events
- Past board member of the Snake River Builder’s Association
- Associate member of the Ada County Association of Building Contractors
- Authored newspaper interior design column “Dream Décor” for 14 years
- Originated and taught interior design classes
- Provided numerous interior design seminars for churches and civic groups
- Numerous first place awards for Treasure Valley Parade homes
Shirley is especially proud to have been appointed by Mayor Tom Dale to serve a four-year term on the new Nampa Building and Site Design Standards (BSDS) committee, which consists of seven professionals who hold the proposed designs for new and remodeled buildings, their site layout and landscape, to high standards.
Experienced in working with contractors, sub-contractors and architects, Shirley is capable of working through all aspects and details of design from start to finish, whether the project is new construction, a remodel, creating a new look with new furnishings and accessories, or rearranging and refurbishing what the clients already own.
Enjoying all styles of decor, she relishes the opportunity to develop various schemes, including 'casual,' contemporary, traditional or 'luxurious.' Her skill is to make any setting feel comfortable and inviting. Shirley says it all has to do with creating an atmosphere by utilizing appropriate colors, values of colors (light or dark), textures, shapes and lighting.
Shirley attends markets and keeps abreast of new developments in interior design, aiding her in her continuous goal to be regarded as knowledgeable, reliable and having integrity. Her personal interests include studies in color therapy, Feng Shui, homeopathy, and sharing fun times with her family.
She enjoys helping her discriminating clients identify what they want to accomplish with the interiors of their homes or businesses, and then providing a long-range plan to achieve an interior that’s individual design is not only personal to the client, but is also timeless.
